La Rioja is one of the most important areas of wine production in the world. It has a long history, and exceptional soils and climates.
Founded in 1924, Ramón Bilbao winery has more than 75 hectares of vineyards that are situated in Haro, La Rioja. Experts in the art of aging, this winery combines history and Riojan tradition with the modernity of its new facilities.
Ramón Bilbao Viñedos de Altura is a blend of equal parts of Tempranillo (50%) and Grenache (50%) varieties. The grapes come from carefully selected old vineyards in the higher parts of the Rioja in the towns of Villalba de Rioja and Tudelilla.
It was named best winery in the International Wine & Spirit Competition 2014.
Colour: Intense cherry with violet reflections.
Aromas of ripe red fruit with hints of vanilla and cinnamon. Floral and balsamic background.
Taste: Fresh and wide entrance. Of sweet and tasty fruit with hints of intense pace. Good astringency and acidity. Something spicy aftertaste.
